Prior to the release of this coveted collectible, KAWS teamed up with All Rights Reserved to send the figure into space. The artist shared videos and photos of the toy strapped to a weather balloon, which soared more than 135,000 feet above the ground before returning safely to earth. The KAWS Holiday Space Figure in Gold is a reference to the artist's iconic MTV Moonman Trophy, used at the 2013 MTV VMAs. The figure was released on the DDT Store on August 17, 2020.
